VOX POP: The Disco Party! Closing Reception

After seven months of a contested campaign and election season, Jane Addams Hull-House Museum’s exhibition, Official Unofficial Voting Station: Voting for Those Who Legally Can't will close with a reception and timely theatrical performance.

RSVP and Share Your Voice!

Join Hull-House artist Aram Han Sifuentes for the closing party of the museum’s voting station and letter writing booths VOX POP: The Disco Party. The grand finale will include a special performance by Hull-House partners, Free Street Theater. Free Street will present excerpts from their play, CHECKMATE, a play created in response to the election year and the continuing fight to assert our rights. CHECKMATE asks, "How do you make change when you can't vote?" Both a toolkit and a call to action, CHECKMATE explores the impact of youth-led movements on social change, and emphasizes the power of imagination in creating radical solutions to everyday problems. On the eve of May Day, an international day of organized labor action, join Hull-House and support public voice and protest.
